Who we are
Divorcio Latino by Cesanelli Law didn’t begin in 2022.
It began in 2013, in a small office with a big dream — when attorney Valeria Cesanelli opened The Law Offices of Valeria Cesanelli. From day one, the mission was clear: to be a voice for the Latino community in the family court system.
We know that for many Latino families, stepping into a courtroom can feel intimidating — not just because of the legal process, but because of language barriers, cultural differences, and the fear of being misunderstood. We’ve seen parents hesitate to fight for their children’s custody because they don’t know their rights, couples stay in unhappy marriages because they’re unsure of the legal process, and immigrants feel lost when facing a system that doesn’t always speak their language.
From the very beginning, we stood beside Latino parents fighting for custody of their children, guiding families through divorces that often included not just custody, but also child support, alimony, and equitable distribution of property. We have helped fathers through legitimation, ensuring they could be legally recognized on their children’s birth certificates. We’ve supported mothers seeking termination of parental rights to protect their children from unsafe situations, and we’ve stood with victims of abuse to obtain Domestic Violence Protective Orders that restored their safety and peace of mind.
